Awards & Residencies

Presker received the award jointly with Luiza Margan for the installation Formication. The OHO Group Award, established in 2006 by the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute (Ljubljana) in partnership with the Foundation for a Civil Society (New York), is given annually to Slovene artists or artist groups under 35 working in painting, photography, video, new media, or performance. It is named after OHO, the influential Slovene neo-avant-garde group active in the late 1960s.

The 2007 jury included Zdenka Badovinac, director of Moderna galerija Ljubljana. Other nominees that year included son:DA, Jaša Mrevlje, and Matjaž Wenzel.

The prize comprised a six-week residency at ISCP (International Studio & Curatorial Program) in New York, a solo exhibition at the P74 Centre and Gallery in Ljubljana, and the purchase of the work by KD Group.

Six-week studio residency awarded as part of the 2007 OHO Group Award, undertaken in 2008. New work made during the residency — including Tube — was shown publicly at ISCP's Open Studios. The residency also connected Presker with the New York art space Apexart, where he later gave a talk.
