Harmonograph Lab

Four damped pendulums push a pen; an optional rotating table turns the paper underneath. Small detunings between near-whole-number frequencies make the patterns.

Pendulum lengths if frequency 1.000 is a 1 m "seconds pendulum" (L = 0.994 m / f²). Real harmonographs swing much slower than this preview; the drawing is the same.
