Description

In collaboration with Luiza Margan. An overhead projector stands alone in a darkened corridor, casting a hand-drawn map onto the end wall — its lines part cartography, part free drawing. The piece connects the logic of maps as a basis for spatial searching with systems of identification within society; by layering cartographic drawings, it interprets displacement and dislocation as part of identity in contemporary society.

Concept

Maps claim to fix place, but the drawings projected here are unstable and hand-made — territory redrawn from memory rather than survey. The work treats displacement not as a single event but as an ongoing condition of identity, where the ground itself is provisional.
