Description

In collaboration with Luiza Margan. Arched panels covered in a dense black-and-white floral tile pattern can be folded into different angular configurations — origami-like, hinged along straight creases. In one documented view, two of these panels sit in an exterior loggia with a brick floor and stone column: one folded into a tent-like form balanced on a dark geometric stand, the other collapsed flat on the ground nearby. A separate interior view shows a related arched panel mounted flat on a gallery wall alongside a brick-pattern projection and a free-standing black metal form — suggesting "Solidno" (Slovenian for "solid"/"sturdy") may be a body of related, foldable/modular panel works shown across multiple configurations and spaces, with Kamin possibly naming one specific arrangement or piece within it.

Concept

The foldability is the key fact here: a single flat panel becomes either a rigid, weight-bearing form (propped on its stand) or a loose, collapsed shape on the ground, simply by changing its fold. "Solidno" — solid, sturdy — sits in tension with a panel that is, materially, just paper or thin sheet stock; the title may be pointing at this contradiction between the form's apparent structural confidence and its actual flimsiness.
