Description

In collaboration with Luiza Margan. The work exists in two versions. The first, titled 706, was presented at the ISCP studios, New York (2008): transparent polyester foil tube systems were connected to the building's air conditioning, inflated into living organ-like structures by ventilation air. The second version was presented at L'art contemporain en Europe — Pommery Experience 5, Domaine Pommery, Reims, France (2008), filling a 30-metre underground cellar hallway with foil, sound, and internal video documentation of the air circuits.

Concept

Made during the 2008 ISCP residency in New York, Tube continues the body of work — alongside Breather and Knot — that treats inflatable fabric as a stand-in for circulatory or respiratory systems: structures whose function depends on air moving through soft, otherwise collapsed membranes.
